executives from Overture Services (now part of Yahoo!), one of the
largest providers of search results on the web. At Overture, we
pioneered new approaches to search - working on the Overture site and
providing search results to Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Lycos, and many, many
other search engines. So we know how search engines work!

About the Telic Media Team
Mark Evans is a founding
Partner at Telic Media. Previously, he was the General Manager of the
US search business of Overture Services, with P&L responsibility at
the largest pay for performance search provider on the Internet. He
began his tenure with Overture heading the advertiser product
management group, which designed features and functionality of the
online tools used by Overture's tens of thousands of advertisers, as
well as internal tools used by Overture's customer service and
editorial teams. He was promoted to also lead advertiser marketing,
with responsibility for growing the base of advertisers. Prior to
Overture, Mark was a partner with CCI, a firm that brought together
CEOs and Presidents of large high-tech and industrial companies and
that also helped small high-tech companies grow from ideas into small,
successful companies. Previously, he was a consultant with McKinsey
& Company. Mark has an MBA from the Wharton School, and a BA from
UC Berkeley.
Ted Huffman is a founding
Partner at Telic Media. Previously, he was Director of Internal
Applications and Technology Planning at Overture Services. While at
Overture, he oversaw the strategic planning and execution of all
Technology projects and led the development of the company's
multi-million dollar suite of internal systems. Together, these systems
manage all Overture accounts, advertisers, balances, and editorial
processing. Ted was the primary designer and architect of this suite of
applications, which has been patented in the United States, Europe and
China. Prior to Overture, Ted was a manager with Andersen Consulting
(now Accenture) in London. He specialized in designing and developing
large-scale systems for financial institutions and retail companies.
Previously, he was a consultant for Intel. Ted has an MA from
California State University and a BA from Georgetown College.
Mary Kingsley Huffman
is a founding Partner at Telic Media, and heads our Usability &
Conversion Improvement practice & Online Marketing Practices.
Previously, she was Director of Marketing at Overture Services. While
at Overture, she was responsible for the acquisition marketing and
communication departments, leading all advertiser acquisition efforts
and customer communications. Prior to Overture, Mary was an Engagement
Manager in the London office of McKinsey & Company, specializing in
marketing solutions. Mary also led marketing efforts for student
loans at Wells Fargo Bank, expanding the Bank's market into 9 states
and speaking to over 10,000 high school students and their parents over
several years. Mary has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of
Business and a BA from UCLA.
Mary O'Brien is a founding
Partner at Telic Media, and runs our Training division, but is not
involved in client service. Previously, she was the Senior Director of
Sales for Overture Services. While at Overture, she was responsible for
the sales and account management teams, working with and optimizing
campaigns for many leading advertisers such as Ebay, Amazon, Expedia,
Hoovers Online, and Travelzoo. She began her tenure with Overture
heading the training & organizational development team. She oversaw
recruiting for the sales & service teams and training &
organizational development for the company. Prior to Overture, Mary was
a Director of Member Services for Primax Recoveries Inc., managing
sales & customer service operations for this medical claims
investigations company and building the California branch of this
national company from scratch. She has served as marketing, sales &
customer service director for several large multi-national companies
such as AON Insurance and The Capital Group.
